Scottie Deubler and Bubba Blackwell to serve as event hosts and FansChoice.tv commentators for 2017 American Flat Track season
American Flat Track (AFT) has exciting enhancements planned for the at-track experience in 2017. For the ninth season, Scottie Deubler will return as the “Voice of American Flat Track” and will be joined by a new co-host, “The American Daredevil” Bubba Blackwell.
With the AFT telecasts on NBCSN serving as the sport’s primary broadcast outlet, additional energy will be focused on entertaining the fans in the grandstands. American Flat Track’s in-house production team will once again produce top quality coverage which will be presented on jumbotrons provided by Mobile View for fans on site. The same coverage will also be delivered to fans unable to make the events via live streaming on FansChoice.tv.
“Scottie Deubler is the voice of American Flat Track,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “Bubba joins the team at the onset of the most eagerly awaited season in decades. We look forward to him adding his spin on proceedings.”
Since 2009, Deubler has served as lead PA announcer and play-by-play commentator for FansChoice.tv. The Oklahoma-native combines his considerable announcing background with his experience as a former AFT contender.
“I cannot wait for this season to get started,” Deubler said. “I have personally never seen twins on a TT track at the professional level and I am super excited to witness racing inside Daytona International Speedway for the first time. Also, the revival of Harley-Davidson vs. Indian Motorcycle will be exciting, and I don’t remember so many top riders switching teams in the off-season either. This will be a year for the history books, for sure.”
Seven-time Grand National Champion Chris Carr has ended his tenure as a FansChoice.tv commentator to take on the key role of Chief Competition Officer for the sport and the opening provided a new opportunity to find a partner for Deubler. Blackwell began his career in flat track racing before taking his Harley-Davidson down the path of Evel Knievel and becoming the world’s best motorcycle stunt jumper.
“I’m about as pumped as anybody could be,” Blackwell said. “Being involved in American Flat Track is a dream come true for me, and I also get to work with one of my best friends, Scottie Deubler. I’m looking forward to being a part of the team, at the events and on FansChoice.tv.”
American Flat Track will kick off the 2017 season during Daytona’s Bike Week festivities on Thursday, March 16 with the all-new Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT, built inside the tri-oval at Daytona International Speedway. The Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT will mark the dawning of a new era for America’s most historic form of motorcycle racing, and the “World Center of Racing” will serve as the first battleground for the great American war between Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles in 2017.
