Rookies of ’79 Continues as Official Charity of American Flat Track
American Flat Track and Rookies of ’79 and Friends are proud to announce a renewed partnership with Rookies of ’79 reaffirming its designation as the Official Charity of American Flat Track.
For nearly a decade, Rookies of ’79 has played a critical role in providing injured competitors a helping hand in their time of greatest need. It has consistently lived up to its goal to help injured riders (and their families) recover and remain involved in the sport they love.
The charity exists as a fan-supported 501(c)(3) non-profit that has worked relentlessly to help countless AFT riders since its inception. Its services are available to all licensed AFT competitors injured at any American Flat Track event, and it has not turned away a single rider seeking aid.
“Charlie Roberts and his team do great work on behalf of our athletes and community,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “We are happy to continue to partner with them as we grow our family of competitors going into 2019.”
Rookies of ’79 will continue to be present in the paddock at every event.
“We are truly honored by our partnership with American Flat Track,” said Charlie Roberts, charity organizer for Rookies of ’79. “They have offered us the support and exposure to make even more of a difference to the riders and families in need when injury occurs. Our at-track merchandise booth present at all AFT rounds has greatly expanded our fundraising capabilities. Couple that with the rider support we receive in the form of donated memorabilia for fan purchase, and our mission is truly pushing forward. It is a great time to be involved with the most exciting form of racing and the team that is helping it to grow.”
