HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 22, 2015) – The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. was host to round eight of the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series. Despite the threat of winter weather, 51,023 fans were on hand and Fox Sports One aired the event live. Weston Peick returned to racing last weekend in Dallas after breaking his foot in Phoenix, and reinjuring it at the third Anaheim event. Peick was riding well in Dallas but went down in the first turn during the main event tearing his MCL. The injury is painful to ride through, but Peick was determined to race in Atlanta. Despite the injury Peick transferred directly to the main event from heat race one, with Phillip Nicoletti following suite in heat race two. The AutoTrader.com/Toyota/Yamaha Team riders began the main event with Nicoletti second and Peick third. Peick was able to move into second on lap two of 20, he held the spot nearly half the race ultimately claiming fifth place, with Nicoletti 11th, his best finish of the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship season.
