Harley-Davidson has produced more than a few icons over its long history, and now The Motor Company has a new program to celebrate those icons, both the ones we know, and the ones to come. Reimagining classic design themes and exploring new ones that represent the future of motorcycle design, the new Icon Collection will produce one to two motorcycles per year in very limited numbers, each with only one production run, never to be repeated.

The first motorcycle in the Icon Collection is the 2021 Electra Glide Revival, based off of the 1969 Harley-Davidson FLH Electra Glide, which was the first motorcycle to sport the iconic batwing fairing. Many of the styling cues from the original model have been translated onto the Revival, like the raised solo seat, whitewall tires, chrome railings around the saddlebags, and, like the bags and fairing offered back in ’69, they only come in one color—white.

“We live in a very dynamic time, each of us experiencing constant change,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson vice president of styling and design. “The Electra Glide Revival model is an oasis in this daily turbulence, a way to reconnect with the fundamental Harley-Davidson DNA that created Grand American Touring.”

The Electra Glide Revival is based on the modern H-D touring chassis with a Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine and all of the technology you expect to see on a current H-D bagger. H-D’s full Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) safety suite comes standard, including cornering-enhanced linked ABS and traction control. And of course, riders can still expect to find the Boom! Box GTS infotainment system and speakers mounted into the fairing.

The 2021 Electra Glide Revival is expected in H-D dealerships in late April of 2021, with an MSRP of $29,199.Harley-Davidson

This announcement aligns with what we heard from H-D back in February regarding the new Hardwire plan, aiming the majority of the company’s efforts at its core business. By revisiting historic designs, the company can continue to play to its key demographic while still offering new takes on the classics. As for the future designs it’s speaking of… Well, we can’t wait to see those either.

Only 1,500 Revival models will be made, and they are scheduled to arrive in H-D dealerships this month with an MSRP of $29,199.
