Galfer Miller MX Report

The 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season concluded on Saturday with round 12, and the series finale was also its debut at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City, Utah. Andrew Short set the pace for Galfer USA riders, finishing seventh overall for the day and sixth in the 450 championship.

450 Class
The top Galfer USA rider in the 450 class was BTO Sports KTM’s Andrew Short, who finished sixth and 12th in his motos to end the day in seventh. The finish rounds out a remarkably consistent season for Short, who has finished seventh or better for ten consecutive rounds on his No. 29 KTM 450 SX-F. Short ended the season with sixth in points.

Justin Brayton claimed tenth on his No. 10 JGRMX Yamaha YZ450F thanks to his moto finishes of 12th and eighth. His teammate Josh Grant got a great start to the day, taking fifth in moto one on board the No. 33 Yamaha. Unfortunately, he injured his shoulder during the first race, and had to sit out moto two. Grant wound up with an overall spot of 12th and rounded out the 2014 season with eighth in points.

Rockstar Energy’s Ryan Sipes put in the best 450 performance on the day for Galfer. His ninth and sixth place motos earned him the overall sixth position in Utah. Breaking away from his normal GNCC Racing season for a few events, Sipes put up some impressive results including a podium appearance in Indiana. He will conclude the GNCC season this fall, where he currently sits in tenth in the Pro MX1 class standings.

250 Class
Joey Savatgy notched his fifth-consecutive top ten in the 250 season finale. He had a consistent day on the No. 43 Rockstar Energy Racing KTM 250 SX-F, finishing eighth and seventh in his motos to score seventh overall. He also snagged yet another Motosport.com Holeshot Award, beating the field off the line in moto two.

Rockstar Energy Racing’s Jason Anderson had a very different day. After riding his No. 17 KTM to 15th in moto one, a disappointing result in moto two put him at just 17th for the round. Nevertheless, Anderson finished the season with the seventh spot in points.
