Catching Up with Six AMA Horizon Award Winners Who Raced MotoAmerica This Past Season

The Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Awards are given each year to the top amateurs in three motorcycle racing disciplines: road racing, flat track racing, and motocross. The purpose of the Awards is to recognize amateur racers who demonstrate the skills and traits indicative of potential future success in professional racing.

This past season, there were a total of six racers competing in the MotoAmerica Series who were past winners of a Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award: EBC Brakes Superbike rider Jake Lewis, Stock 1000 rider Miles Thornton, Supersport riders Hayden Gillim and Xavier Zayat, Twins Cup rider Joseph Blasius, and Liqui Moly Junior Cup rider Dallas Daniels.

In the October issue of American Motorcyclist, the AMA published a story written by Jen Muecke that profiles the six MotoAmerica riders and includes their thoughts on their professional road racing careers so far.
