2025 Harley-Davidson Pan America ST – First Look

This might be the closest we’ll get to seeing a Bronx

Harley-Davidson announced a new “Adventure Sport” version of the Pan America. Sharing most of the features of the Pan America Special, but with 17-inch wheels, shorter suspension, and a quickshifter, the 2025 Pan America 1250 ST may be the closest we’ll ever come to seeing a Harley-Davidson Bronx.
Visually, the Pan America ST looks similar to the Special, but with a shorter windscreen and a lack of lower fairings, crash bars and handguards. It’s no surprise, then, that the ST is a lighter package, claiming a curb weight of 542 pounds compared to the Pan America Special’s claimed 569 pounds. The Pan America 1250 ST starts at $19,999, the same starting MSRP as its off-roading sibling.

The Pan America ST is powered by the same 1250cc Revolution Max engine as the Special. Harley-Davidson claims a peak output of 149 hp at 8,750 rpm (slightly less than the Special) and 91 lb-ft. of torque (versus 94 lb-ft. on the Pan America Special). Some of that difference may be due to the ST’s exhaust, which lacks the mid-chamber found on the Pan America Special. Harley-Davidson says the change was made to reduce weight and improve sound quality.
The six-speed transmission, primary and final drive ratios and wet, assist and slip clutch are identical to the adventure model, but the ST comes standard with a Screamin’ Eagle bidrectional quickshifter.

With 17-inch cast wheels, the ST promises to be quicker steering than the adventure version and its 19-inch front wheel. Instead of the Pan America Special’s Michelin Scorcher Adventure tires, the ST comes equipped with Michelin Scorcher Sport tires, the same rubber used on the LiveWire One.
With more of an on-road focus, the ST’s suspension offers 0.75 inches less travel, front and rear, than the S, with 6.75 inches of give. For North America, the Pan America ST is equipped with Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), which automatically lowers the motorcycle when coming to a stop, and returns to an optimal ride height when getting back to speed. The stock seat is a one-piece unit instead of the separate rider and passenger seat on the Special. The seat is 0.5 inches shorter than the Special’s seat; together with ARH and the seat at its lowest setting, the seat height is 31.7 inches from the ground, a full inch lower than the Pan America Special.

Suspension duties are handled by a Showa 47mm Balance Free Fork and Balance Free Shock, both offering electronic preload adjustment and manually-adjustable compression and rebound damping. In other markets, the suspension is only manually adjustable. Brembo supplies the dual monoblock radial-mount front calipers and a single-piston rear caliper.
The ST comes with three preset ride modes (Road, Sport, and Rain) plus two custom modes. Rider aids include lean sensitive antilock brakes, electronically linked brakes, traction control, and drag torque slip control. Front wheel lift mitigation, vehicle hold control, and a tire pressure monitoring system also come standard.

The infotainment system is based around a 6.8-inch color TFT touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation from Harley-Davidson’s smartphone app.
The 2025 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST will be offered in three color options: Billiard Gray, Vivid Black, and Brilliant Red.
