Harley-Davidson has just unveiled its 2022 carryover lineup, showing some new wheels, colors, and graphics, but withholding CVO models and its new product reveal for later this month on January 26. All major models, including the Iron 883 and Forty-Eight, remain in the lineup; this may come as a surprise to some considering the direction that H-D is taking the Sportster name. Of course for many in the market, the real news here is that H-D’s dealerships are being restocked nationwide.

The Pan America 1250 models see improved visibility of information on the TFT screen, as well as extended active Hill Hold time, from 10 seconds up to 3–5 minutes. A new and bright color is available for only 1250 Special models, called Fastback Blue/White Sand.

Sportster S models gain no major updates, but come in two new colors for 2022: White Sand Pearl and Mineral Green Metallic.

The cruiser lineup, including Softail and Evo-powered models, gets an array of new paint options, as well as a few model-specific updates. Heritage Classic 114 models, named Cycle World’s Best Cruiser for 2021, now have the option of chrome trim in addition to the previous blacked-out edition. Softail Standard and Street Bob models come with new Annihilator cast wheels. The Fat Boy’s badge has been revised to add a single trailing wing to the centered star logo. The Fat Bob’s gas tank features a “waterslide” fuel tank graphic, matching the oval shape of the tank. Iron 883 and Forty-Eight models see no major updates, but we’re glad the old Evo is still in the lineup.ADVERTISEMENT

In the Grand American Touring segment there are no major updates save for new paint color options across the board. Like last year, each touring model comes equipped with 49mm dual-bending valve forks and Reflex linked Brembo brakes. H-D’s Reflex Defensive Rider System has been renamed Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements, but remains an additional option for all touring models and includes electronically linked brakes, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, Drag Torque Slip Control, Vehicle Hill Hold, and tire pressure monitoring. Hill Hold had previously been extended for touring models and will therefore now be featured on the Pan America.

As mentioned, Harley-Davidson will be releasing new models and the CVO lineup on January 26 with the theme of “Further. Faster.” You can register to watch that reveal at h-d.com/22.
